The wheel of the year turns, moving us into a waning time of increasing darkness. As we begin to spiral within, in readiness for Winters’ stillness, we give thanks for all that we are and all that we have received. Autumn Equinox, where the night is equal to the day in length, is also about balance; restoring balance within our self, our communities and the world. It is a night of endings and beginnings where we can seek guidance in seeing clearly and deepening our intuition.

At this ‘All Hallows Eve’ the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest, we touch our deepest dreaming, transform and remember. In Winters’ darkening, honour our ancestors, teachers and loved ones, offering blessing to all those who have guided us, in love, throughout the ages. Journey into the sacred space of the Labyrinth, a metaphor of our heart, of our life. The ancient Labyrinth welcomes all experiences into its spirals, teaching us to enter more deeply into the mystery of being. Dance, chant, drum, meditate and go within to celebrate ourselves, our wisdom and this sacred time!

The full moon rises tonight and we celebrate its luminous presence in our life. This will be the largest full moon of the year, circling close to the earth and fully illuminated by the sun. Imbolc is the time between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, the half way mark through the dark months of the year. It literally means, ‘in the belly of the Mother’ or in the womb of the earth. It is a celebration of the first stirrings of Spring, and the rebirth of the land, though as yet still deeply hidden. At Imbolc, the seeds of our dreams planted at Winter are beginning to germinate and unfurl their first tiny leaves. Now is the time to kindle a sacred fire, both literally and of our hearts’ flame, to light, warm and guide our way until the brightness of Spring returns.
